Authorised Trainer – Award in Economic Diplomacy and Role of Diaspora (EDRD)
08/04/2024The authorisation of trainers will be based on two major criteria:
The MCP Med TI will ensure the necessary levels of competence in both pedagogy and subject matter for all trainers and their continued compliance with standards.
a. Pedagogy
· Recognised EU-accredited pedagogy qualification/award at European Qualifications Framework / Malta Qualifications Framework level 4 or above.
OR
· 100 classroom hours’ training delivery experience as a lead trainer.
OR
· A minimum of 5 years working as a trainer/instructor at a recognised educational institution.
b. Subject Matter:
Award in Economic Diplomacy and Role of Diaspora
- Previous experience in delivering Economic Diplomacy/Role of the diaspora courses or training in related areas such as Diaspora Engagement and Global Economics, Trade Diplomacy and Agreements, Remittances and Economic Development, etc. at a comparable or more advanced level: 100 classroom delivery hours required (as a lead trainer).
OR
- Operational experience in diplomatic missions or international organisations: prospective instructors should possess mid-level professional operational experience in embassies, consulates, or international organisations, with a specific focus on diaspora engagement, within any country. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
OR
- Recognised EU-accredited qualification in diaspora engagement or economic diplomacy, or a related field (like international relations, diaspora studies, migration studies, international law, political science, sociology, etc). (EQF/MQF level 5 or above).
c. Additional requirements:
- Competence in English equivalent to B1 of the CEFR.
- Written and verbal fluency (C2 of CEFR) in English, Arabic OR French is essential.
- Solid communications skills.
- Experience in the Mediterranean region.
- Substantive knowledge on migration issues.
- Functional competence in Information Technology (Microsoft Windows/Word/PowerPoint).
Notes:
1- The Nominated Trainer must pass an online, self-pace Training induction course containing the ‘’Course Material – Asynchronous’’ through our Learning Management System (LMS).
2- The Nominated Trainer must then pass the Face-to-Face Training induction course which includes partial delivery of the subject matter for 5 days.
Delivery may involve:
– Power point preparation and explanation and/or use of other Visual aids (videos/charts/pictures…).
– Interactive lecturing (questions to audience/brainstorming/giving examples).
– Interactive/guided discussions.
– Practical and group exercises.
– Case studies.
– Any other method of delivery that is fitting depending on the nature of the session.
3- If the participant manages to pass the Trainer Induction Course (online + Face to Face), he will be partially authorized and will have to deliver two consecutive courses which will be monitored by MCP Med TI, then he will become a fully authorized trainer for two years.
4- When assessing the eligibility of potential instructors, the Training Institute will consider:
• Training Portfolio including the number of participants trained, and course contents.
• CPD hours.
5- The Training Institute reserves the right to assess the operational experience of potential instructors.
